The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) informed that the seismic station and remote webcam (approx. 75 miles from west of Anchorage) started to receive signals from the volcano again as conditions have enhanced.
Thick winter snow accumulation hindered the transmission of seismic data from stations on the volcano to the AVO volcano observatory based in Anchorage.
Recent improvements in conditions at the volcano, coupled with maintenance work at the Anchorage receive facility and adjustments to remote radio configurations, have enabled AVO to consistently collect data from six stations within the Spurr Network. Consequently, AVO can now monitor volcanic activity in real-time and issue timely warnings of potential eruptions.
