Dukono volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): vulcanian eruptions continue

The explosive eruption from the volcano persists.

The PVMBG’s surveillance cameras continue to monitor vulcanian-sized explosions from the crater. A white-to-grey ash column reached 12,800 ft (3,887 m) altitude, expanding northeast yesterday morning.

In order to mitigate risk, people are advised to avoid the area within a radius of 2 km from the crater.
