Mount St. Helens volcano (Washington State, Canada/USA): elevated seismic activity poses no threats so far

The Cascades Volcano Observatory (CVO) reported that a seismic activity at the volcano has been elevated over the past three months.

More than 400 earthquakes have been monitored by the local seismic network since 15 July. In late August to early September, approx. 40-50 quakes/week were located. Despite the increased seismic activity, the volcano remains at the background levels.

No significant changes have been observed in other monitoring parameters and there are no signs of an imminent eruption.
