Shishaldin volcano (Aleutian Islands, Alaska): yet another new eruptive episode started

A new explosive eruption started at the volcano and is still continuing at the time of this update.

A low-level ash column is rising to about 25,000 ft (7,6 km) elevation and drifting northeast.
This follows a several-hour elevated seismic tremor.
Explosion signals have been detected in the infrasound data from about least 02:00 local time and the National Weather Service has detected lightning in the vicinity of the volcano.
