The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.

The Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) local observatory reported an eruption from the cinder cone within the caldera at 13:37 local time yesterday. A white-to-grey ash column rose to an altitude of 7,600 ft (2,325 m) and drifted northeast.

A seismic record registered a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 23 mm and a duration of 99 seconds.

In order to mitigate risk, people are advised to avoid the area within a radius of 3.5 km from the northern part of the crater.
