Map of today’s active volcanoes

Shiveluch (Kamchatka): (6 May) On 4 May, local volcanologists carried out a flight observation to investigate the current volcano’s activity and its lava dome area.
Visibility during the flight was very limited due to low-level clouds, which made the active lava dome and pyroclastic flow deposits impossible to observe in detail. Despite weather conditions, three strong steam-laden plumes (so-called fumaroles) were detected on the western slope that appeared to be active even after 19 days after the massive eruption.

Kadovar (Northeast of New Guinea): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 15000 ft (4600 m) altitude or flight level 150 .

Lewotolo (Lesser Sunda Islands): (6 May) The effusive-explosive eruption at the volcano continues and remains essentially unchanged.
Near-frequent strombolian and intermittent larger vulanian-type explosions continue to take place from the summit vent. The PVMBG surveillance cameras observed three eruptions over the past 24 hours. Grey-to-black ash plumes rose approx. 400-700 meters above the summit and drifted towards the northwest, southwest and west.
