Ibu volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): intermittent eruptions go on

The explosive eruption at the volcano continues at sporadic intervals.
The Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) local observatory reported an eruption from the cinder cone within the caldera at 09:40 local time this morning. Vulcanian-type grey ash column rose to an altitude of 7,000 ft (2,100 m) and drifted northwest.

A seismic record registered a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 28 mm and a duration of 80 seconds.

In order to mitigate risk, people are advised to avoid the area within a radius of 3.5 km from the northern part of the crater.
