The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.
The Servicio Geológico Colombiano (SGC) reported that an eruption took place at 07:06 AM local time yesterday. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington detected an ash plume that rose to estimated 26,000 ft (7,900 m) altitude and drifted eastern direction
The seismic station registered continuous seismic activity (tremor and long-period/low-frequency earthquakes) hinting elevated fluid movements of gas, water and possibly magma under the surface.
A moderate ash fall has been reported in Villahermosa (Tolima).
The alert status remains at Yellow.
