Pavlof volcano (Alaska Peninsula, USA): activity has stopped, alert level dropped to Yellow

The Alaska Volcano Observatory reported that the activity at the volcano has paused.

Even though the seismic tremor remains at above background levels with variable amplitudes, the last explosion to occur on 7 Dec.

Moreover, no surface temperatures or incandescent lava emissions have been detected since 2 December.

Therefore, the AVO observatory made a decision to lower the Volcanic Alert Level to „Yellow“.
