Strombolian activity has been picking up at the crater in late October.

From available webcam imagery, the volcano behavior seemed to produce stronger-than-usual lava fountains on 31 October. It appeared to eject hot, juvenile, fresh lava fragments from the summit vent, even some of them overreached the crater rim and landed on the upper flank.
