Taal (Luzon, Philippines): The observatory PHIVOLCS recorded 19 weak phreatomagmatic bursts in the time range between 08:50 and 13:30 local time today.
The explosive activity was accompanied by emissions of steam-laden plumes containing some amount of ash which reached approx. 200 meters above the northeastern fumarolic vents. Presence of water likely caused significant explosive interaction (phreatomagmatic activity) of water and magma.

Bulusan (Luzon Island, Philippines): (21 Oct) The alert status for the volcano was raised to „Level 1 (low-level unrest)“ (on the observatory scale of 0-5), as all monitoring data including seismic activity, ground deformation and gas emissions have been increased.
During 11-12 October, the seismic station registered about 126 weak earthquakes located at depths between 0-5 km beneath the NW flank and summit area. The events have been likely associated with the fracturing of surrounding rocks during magma movements under the surface.
