Krakatau volcano (Indonesia): minor eruptions continue

The recent eruptive episode at the volcano, starting on 24 October, continues.

Several small vulcanian explosions took place from the crater over the past 3 days, generating dense grey-to-black ash columns which reached heights between 1,000 ft (300 m) and 2,000 ft (600 m) and mainly drifted to NE.

An incandescent material is being ejected above the crater, also visible in night-time webcams.
People are advised to avoid 5 km away from the crater.
