Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) registered a significant intensifying explosive activity at the volcano in the early night today.
A number of powerful eruptions from the North crater area have been observed at about 02:10 local time, of which the strongest one occurred at 02:29 local time, taking place about 3 minutes.

Much of the ejected pyroclastic material showered the upper part of Sciara del Fuoco and tumble down the slope.
A new, mild lava flow followed the explosive phase at 02:30 local time, observed by the observatory surveillance cameras, limited to the upper part of Sciara del Fuoco.

Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.
On 23 September, a vigorous eruption from the Minamidake summit crater triggered a pyroclastic flow.

The pumice-and-ash flow (Soufrière type current), caused by the eruption column collapse, lifted billowing grey-to-black ash plumes as it descended the slope and formed common phenomena, so-called phoenix clouds.
Spewed eruption plume reached to estimated 10,000 ft (3,048 m) height.

Suwanose-jima (Ryukyu Islands): (25 Sep) Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Tokyo (VAAC) issued the following report: ERUPTED AT 20220925/0703Z FL070 EXTD W OBS VA DTG:25/0700Z

Maunaloa (Big Island, Hawai’i): The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) reported that a small seismic swarm is occurring beneath the summit of the volcano.
At about 02:00 local time starting on 23 September, the seismic network recorded over 38 earthquakes beneath the summit caldera region with most earthquakes in a cluster about 3.1 mi (5 km) wide and -1.2 to 0.6 mi (-2 to 1 km) below the surface. These earthquakes may result from changes in the magma storage system and/or may be part of normal re-adjustments of the volcano due to changing stresses within it.

According to HVO Scientist-in-Charge Ken Hon, „Seismic activity beneath Mauna Loa has been gradually increasing over the past two months. Small earthquake swarms are considered a normal part of this increase in activity. Currently, there are no indications that magma is moving toward the surface and other monitoring systems are displaying normal behavior. Levels of seismicity and deformation remain below those recorded during the winter of 2021.“

The effusive activity at the current eruption site seems to continue at stable conditions over the past 24 hours.
Most of the fluid lava is going directly through lava tunnels fed by lava fountains from the main spatter cone. Lava flows branched off into two lava arms advancing eastward and southeastward. The lava flow front has been located in the area of the Château Fort crater at about 2000 meters altitude this morning. The estimated current lava flow discharge rate is measured 1-3.5 m3/s and lava volume of about 1,2-2.5 million m3 since the eruption began.

Strong SO2 emissions continue to emit (so-called degassing) from the vents dispersing in the west-southwest direction.
The volcanic tremor continues at stable levels, no earthquake has been detected over the past 24 hours hinting a fluent movement of magma towards the surface without fracturing rocks at depth.
