Explosion from Karymsky volcano yesterday (image: KVERT)
The eruptive activity of the volcano continues at moderate levels with sporadic powerful explosions as occurred at 21:44 local time yesterday.
A spectacular vulcanian eruption produced a dense grey ash plume, which reached approx. 17,000 ft (5,200 m) altitude and drifted about 12 km to the S-SW of the volcano.
