The extrusive eruption of the volcano continues at high levels over the past month.
Block lavas, emanating from the Caliente dome, have formed in the upper part of the SW slope and detached from it to roll down the San Isidro drainage, currently about 3,885 meters long.
The block-and-ash flow morphology consists mostly of unstable blocks in its upper, lateral and front sides which may prone to collapse and turn out into very dangerous pyroclastic flows.
The near-frequent and abundant degassing continues to produce steam-laden plumes drifting west-southwest.
The ongoing elevated activity is expected to continue in the following weeks. Further block lava flows collapses are not ruled out.
