Karymsky volcano (Kamchatka): ash to 40,000 ft altitude yesterday

The explosive eruption at the volcano continues from the active crater at moderate levels.

An explosion at the volcano produced ash emissions that reached 40000 ft (12,200 m) altitude and extended about 369 km to the southwest of the volcano at about 11:00 local time yesterday.
