The volcano remains active.

A near-constant incandescence continues to be observed in the summit crater as seen in satellite imagery from 13 April that confirms the small active lava pond. It’s currently stable condition suggests that there is a delicate equilibrium between heat and magma supply and loss (through cooling and mild emissions during degassing).

The volcano’s lava pond can be seen in the attached aerial image captured by the Proyecto Observación Villarrica yesterday.
