The effusive-explosive eruption of the volcano continues at generally elevated levels.
An intense explosion at the volcano occurred at 19:35 local time today which generated a pumice-and-ash flow caused by eruption column collapse. The pyroclastic flow traveled over the Ceniza drainage and is now in progress at the time of this update. Such events are nothing unusual on the volcano and occur from time to time, but rarely more frequently than every few months or so.
