Semeru volcano (East Java, Indonesia): explosive activity continues

The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.

An explosion at Semeru produced a dark ash plume at 03:03 local time today, which reached approx. 14,000 ft (4,370 m) altitude and drifted north.

The volcano observatory reported a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 20 mm and a duration of 900 seconds.
