Popocatépetl volcano (Mexico): eruption this morning, first after month

After almost one month calm period with little or no activity, mostly characterized by degassing, a small-to-moderate explosion occurred at the volcano at 07:15 local time this morning.
A plume of ash rose to an altitude of 21,000 ft (6,400 m) and drifted NE.
60 emissions of water vapor and gases have been detected over the past 24 hours.
