The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported about strong-gas steam plume at the volcano at 10:00 local time today.
Emissions of water vapor and gases were seen rising from the crater to estimated 7,800 ft (2,400 m) height. Therefore, the alert level for the volcano was raised to „Level 3“.
Periods of high amplitude tremor continue.

The last, strong and sudden, explosion occurred on 20 October 2021 classified as phreatic generating lots of block and ash fragments of solidified lithic lava.
