The local Vanuatu Meteorology and Geohazards Department (VMGD) reported that the volcanic-seismic unrest at the volcano continues.

The volcano continues to produce emissions of steam and ash and intermittent stronger explosions within the cone of Lake Voui.

People are advised to avoid the summit area of about 2 km radius and area of flowing creeks during the current La Niña torrential rains season as says Danger Zones Map. Areas and villages located close to the volcano summit may continue to expect volcanic gas and/or ash falls. Phreatomagmatic eruptions may come without warning.
