
A series of nine short-lived phreatomagmatic bursts were observed between 15:50 yesterday and 04:49 local time this morning characterized by steam-driven plumes rising several 400-900 m above the summit. Bursts took place in the range between 10 seconds and 2 minutes detected by the seismic network.
The Taal Volcano Network recorded 31 volcanic earthquakes and 14 minutes tremor during t24 hours.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 10036 tonnes/day yesterday.
Electronic tiltmeter and GPS measurements continue to detect deflation since October last year.
The fumarolic activity is accompanied by near-constant emissions of steam-laden plumes which reached approx. 2,000 meters above the crater and drifted SW and NE.
The alert level for the volcano remains at Level 2.
