Sangay volcano (Ecuador): ash to 7 km altitude

The Instituto Geofísico’s surveillance cameras observed a stronger-than-usual explosion at 06:30 local time today.
This morning’s explosion was dominated by a generated ash column up to 7 km altitude drifting west.
Incandescent material is being ejected onto southeastern flanks which causes glowing avalanches.
