Popocatépetl volcano (Mexico): activity continues at reduced levels

The activity of the volcano continues at generally decreased levels over the past two weeks.
Sporadic emissions of steam and gases (52 tonnes on today) continue at the summit vent that rose to estimated 6 km altitude and drifted NW. No explosive eruption was detected during this period.
Daily volcanic tremor has rapidly decreased to average 50 min / day during the past 2 weeks and remains deeply under the average-than-usual levels (approx. 1000 min / day) confirming that the activity of the volcano continues at reduced levels.
