Merapi volcano (Java, Indonesia): incandescent avalanches continue

The activity of the volcano continues at elevated levels.

The block-and-ash flows continue to descend and caused incandescent avalanches that slid down along the slopes as glowing rock falls reaching Krasak river about 800 m long.

Passive emissions of steam and ash continue from the summit vent that rose 65 ft-328 ft (20 m-100 m) above the summit.
