Suwanosejima volcano (Ryukyu Islands, Japan): explosive activity continues

According to Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) another explosive eruption of the volcano occurred at 12:00 local time today. Emissions of gas and steam plumes with ash content rose 6,561 ft (2,000 m) above the crater and drifted NW. The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 1 km distance from the main crater.
