Dukono volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): near-constant ash emissions

Today at 08:00 local time Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin recorded continuing emissions of gas, steam and white-gray ash from the active crater which reached approx. 7,000 ft (2,100 m) altitude. Volcanic ash is dispersed towards the northeast and causes ash fall onto the volcano’s slopes. The seismic station records 4 volcano-tectonic earthquakes. There is a 2 km exclusion zone…
