The activity at the volcano remains elevated. Viscous lava continues to enter into the lava dome which is growing and producing near-constant hot avalanches. Intermittent explosions accompany this process, while larger rockfalls sometimes trigger pyroclastic flows. With a small group, we will visit the volcano from 16-24 March (Note: few spots still available on this special tour).
