The satellite acquisition of Krakatau volcano on 2 July (image: Sentinel-2, processed by Martin Kelko)
The volcano entered a new eruptive activity recently.
The satellite imagery from 2 July over the area detected a heat anomaly in the crater and ash emissions.
Moreover, the local volcano observatory informed about the activity as well, adding new webcam images showing brown-to-grey ash plumes. The seismic instrument recorded a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 65 mm and a duration of 32 seconds.
