…31 Aug:
The activity at the volcano has been very intense over the past weeks, as the group of an ongoing expeditions to Flores observed:

Strombolian to vulcanian type explosions occurred on average every 5-15 minutes, ejecting abundant incandescent material and ash plumes that rose approx. 200 – 800 m above the summit crater. Loud explosion sounds accompanied the eruptions.
…31 Aug:
The elevated eruptive activity at the volcano continues.

The lava flow started to ooze out onto the northeastern slope this time, as the main source of lava is being generated from the cinder cone. Most of the lava occupies the main caldera, from which different branches fall over steep caldera slopes.

Vulcanian-to-strombolian-type explosions produce ash plumes reaching an approx. altitude of 6,000 ft (1,800 m) that propagate to the west of the volcano.
…31 Aug:
The elevated eruptive activity at the volcano continues.

A lava flow started to ooze out onto the northeastern slope. The source of the lava flow remains a vent at the central cinder cone. Most of the summit caldera is being covered by fresh lava flows, from which different branches fall over the steep outer slopes.

Vulcanian-to-strombolian-type explosions produce ash plumes reaching an approx. altitude of 6,000 ft (1,800 m) that propagate to the west of the volcano.

Krakatau (Sunda Strait, Indonesia): (31 Aug) Explosive activity continues. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned of a volcanic ash plume rising to an estimated 3000 ft (900 m), or flight level 030, and moving at 05 kts in W direction.
Original VAAC bulletin: ash plume to 3,000 ft (900 m) as of Aug 30, 23:33 UTC

Semeru (East Java, Indonesia): Explosive activity continues. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned of a volcanic ash plume rising to an estimated 15000 ft (4600 m), or flight level 150.
Original VAAC bulletin: ash plume to 15,000 ft (4,600 m) as of Aug 31, 15:30 UTC

Dukono (Halmahera): Explosive activity continues. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned of a volcanic ash plume rising to an estimated 7000 ft (2100 m), or flight level 070, and moving at 10 kts in NE direction.
