Help Bring a Delicious New Vegan Entrée to Olive Garden

Olive Garden still doesn’t offer a single exciting vegan entrée on its menu. Diners can get by with plain noodles covered in marinara sauce, but it’s 2026, and customers are hungry for delicious, animal-friendly options in restaurants. Please join PETA in urging the company to add a satisfying vegan version of a popular Olive Garden entrée to the menu.

More and more people know that animals used for food in the U.S. live on massive industrial “factory farms.” More than 9 billion land animals are slaughtered for food in the United States annually. They’re crammed into wire cages, metal crates, or other extremely restrictive enclosures inside filthy, windowless sheds. After enduring short, miserable lives, their throats are slit at slaughterhouses. That’s why kind customers want solid vegan options when they visit restaurants.

We need your help. Please take action today!

Pigeon Massacre at Florida Condo Complex—Speak Up!

PETA has been alerted to a pigeon massacre reportedly underway at The Village of Stuart condo complex in Stuart, FL. According to an email apparently sent recently by the complex’s HOA (screenshot below), a contractor will be at the property multiple times a week blasting away pigeons with an air rifle. These weapons can cause severe and often non-immediately lethal injuries leading to prolonged pain and distress. Further, lethal initiatives tear apart wild families, leaving orphaned young to starve, and are simply ineffective long-term.

A resident reports witnessing pigeons being shot down from rooftops and even out of the sky while attempting to fly over the community. While allegedly stuffing dead pigeons into bags, the contractor reportedly stated that he intended to kill as many as he could, noting that’s why he was hired by the HOA.

PETA reached out to the HOA but our pleas have gone unanswered. These pigeons need your voice! Please politely contact the HOA asking them to immediately stop this barbaric initiative, and to instead implement humane deterrents which are tried and true! Remember it is crucial to keep correspondence polite, as rude messages can hurt our efforts.

Rhode Island: Support Proposed Permit Requirement to Possess Tegu Lizards

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is seeking public input on proposed regulations that would require possession permits for two tegu genera (Salvator and Tupinambis), including Argentine black-and-white tegus, red tegus, blue tegus, and Colombian gold tegus.

In nature, tegus live in open savannas and dense tropical rainforests and spend their days burrowing underground and foraging for a variety of nourishment, such as plants, fruits, seeds, and insects. In the pet trade, they are often confined to cramped and barren enclosures and denied everything natural to them. Like any non-native species, they can wreak havoc on local ecosystems if released from their enclosures or escape.

While a complete ban on the possession of tegus would be the most responsible course of action, the DEM’s proposed regulation requiring a permit to possess them is a step in the right direction. The deadline to comment is May 20, 2026, and your voice in support of the increased oversight is critical!

Here’s how you can help tegus:

  • Speak at the public hearing, which will be held at 5:30 PM on May 12 at the DFW Outdoor Education Office (1B Camp E-Hun-Tee Place, Exeter, RI, 02822).

Here are a few talking points, but remember that using your own words is most effective:

  • As a resident of [your city/town], I support stronger regulations to protect tegus.
  • When tegus escape their enclosures—or are purposefully released—the outcome can be detrimental to the tegu and native wildlife.
  • I support the DEM’s proposal to require a permit to possess tegu species in the genera Salvator and Tupinambis.
