Update: Illinois: Big Cats, Primates, and Bears Need Reps to Vote for HB4255

Update (May 22, 2026): This bill has passed in both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly and is headed to the governor’s desk. If you have a minute, please consider speaking up for animals forced to perform in traveling acts in states that haven’t enacted a ban!

Original post:

If signed into law, this bill will expand existing legislation prohibiting the use of elephants in traveling acts to include big cats such as lions and tigers , non-human primates, and bears. Animals suffer tremendously in these types of traveling acts and are often trained with cruel and vicious methods. Circuses and traveling exhibitors have been caught whipping and confining lions and tigers, leashing monkeys to dogs and racing them, and beating and punishing bears to get them to do confusing and meaningless tricks. Long story short, it is unacceptable that this clear animal abuse has not been outlawed already.

Pigeons Being Trapped in Los Angeles—Speak Up!

PETA has been alerted to a pigeon trapping initiative reportedly underway at a property on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. The location is apparently managed by Jamison Services, who have admitted to hiring a contractor to trap pigeons.

Photographs reportedly taken recently.

They’ve apparently claimed to compassionate locals that the birds are being relocated, but that trope is commonly spouted when the reality is often much darker. Lethal initiatives—or ANY removal measures—against wildlife backfire, because the resultant spike in the food supply accelerates breeding among survivors and inevitable newcomers, with populations then increasing!

We need your voice! Please politely contact Jamison Services urging them to immediately halt this futile trapping initiative in favor of humane measures which are tried and true:

Pigeons Reportedly Languishing in Traps in Utah!

PETA has been alerted to a pigeon trapping initiative reportedly underway at Hunter Wood Apartments in Murray, UT, where, allegedly, pigeons are being trapped and left to languish without food or water for days. We understand this complex has possibly been trapping pigeons for some time, and they apparently claim that the birds are being relocated, but that trope is commonly spouted when the reality is often much darker.

As evidenced by their repeat initiative, lethal initiatives—or ANY removal measures—against wildlife backfire, because the resultant spike in the food supply accelerates breeding among survivors and inevitable newcomers, with populations then increasing!

Local authorities and state wildlife officials won’t act, so we need your voice! Please politely contact Hunter Woods Apartments urging them to immediately halt this futile trapping initiative in favor of humane measures which are tried and true:
