PETA has been advised that Eagle Construction of VA has deployed plastic erosion-control netting to keep straw in place at its GreenGate construction site in Henrico, Virginia. Numerous animals have reportedly become entangled as a result, some fatally. Plastic erosion-control netting is notorious for ensnaring and killing wildlife, and its nonbiodegradable nature is an environmental concern.
We contacted the company’s executives with information about the dangers of this type of netting and provided them with wildlife- and Earth-friendly alternatives, urging them to immediately remove the dangerous plastic netting, but we’ve been met with silence. We need you to speak up! Please politely ask Eagle Construction of VA to immediately remove plastic erosion-control netting from all its construction sites and switch to safer methods.
